Our Goal: To provide quality early interventions to our 3-5 year olds prior to kindergarten. We do this by supporting the development of their social/emotional, physical, cognitive, communication, and adaptive skills.
Marion County provides services for 3-5 year-old students in a variety of ways. The 3-5 year-old group receives support through Head Start, Itinerant Speech/Language/Occupational/Physical Therapy, and full-time classes including specialized classrooms and VPK. Additionally, we offer services to some private pre-schools.
We have 30 Elementary Schools that offer Inclusive VPK classrooms for 3-5 year-old students and 20 Elementary Schools that offer Pre-K ESE classes for 3-5 year-old students. The county has 67 classes providing services to our 3-5 year-olds at this time.
Marion County Public Schools works collaboratively with Episcopal Children’s services to provide services for students enrolled at Head Start locations across Marion County. For more information on Episcopal Children’s Services, please visit: https://www.ecs4kids.org/
For our youngest children in the community, the 0-2 year-old group, they can potentially receive support through Early Steps to provide home-based services for education, PT, OT, and Speech/Language.
