School Choice and Community Resource Expo Offers Lots of Options to Local Students
Marion County – Marion County Public Schools (MCPS) will host its annual School Choice and Community Resource Expo on Thursday, Nov. 9, from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala (1750 NW 80 Ave.).
MCPS will hold the free event in Expo Center 2 showcasing local magnet schools and the abundance of options available to students, parents, and families when it comes to academics. Expo Center 2 is located on the backside of WEC and offers easy public access and ample parking.
The School Choice and Community Resource Expo allows students, parents, and families to learn about the different school choice options offered by Marion County Public Schools and visit various community resources all in one location.
The goal is to provide families with an experience to learn about school choice options and direct links to district and community resources.
The application window to apply for school choice, magnet and Career Academy options opens the same day and remains open through Jan. 31, 2024.
To apply for school choice, click the “Student Enrollment and School Choice” tab at www.marionschools.net then click “Apply To School Choice” to start the application process.
Parents/families must provide their own transportation if accepted into school choice programs because the district does not provide transportation for out-of-area placements.
