Leadership MCPS is your opportunity to learn about what it takes to educate 45,000+ students every day. From peeks into the classroom to learning how funding public education works, you will gain a new appreciation for how a public school district runs and the people dedicated to the students it serves.

To apply, please complete the application available at this link by July 25. MCPS employees are not eligible for Leadership MCPS.
Confirmation of acceptance into Class IV will be made later this summer with the first session set for Aug. 29. A one-time enrollment fee of $150 is required for those accepted and covers expenses including lunch during sessions.
Eight half-day sessions cover every facet of the school system with behind-the-scenes tours, hands-on demonstrations, student interaction, and quality time with the experts in their fields.
- Monthly Sessions begin in August 2025 and will conclude in May 2026. Sessions will be held on the following Fridays from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM at schools and facilities all across the county:
