Summer Bridge Program 2026
Who is eligible for the Florida Summer VPK Bridge Program?
The Summer VPK Bridge Program is a school-district–run, no-cost summer literacy program for children who completed VPK and need additional support before entering kindergarten.
Eligibility requirements for Summer 2026:
To be eligible statewide, a child must meet all of the following conditions:

The child attended a Florida Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program (public or private) during the 2025–2026 school year.

The child is entering kindergarten in fall 2026.

The child meets at least one assessment-based requirement on the VPK FAST Progress Monitoring 3 (PM3):
- Scored below the 25th percentile on PM3 under current Florida Administrative Code rule 6A‑6.0530, or
- Received a PM3 non-participation status of:
- assessment inappropriate
- failed practice
- non‑English speaker
Marion County Public Schools is offering Summer Bridge programming at two schools this summer. Fordham Early Learning Academy, and Winding Oaks Elementary School. Summer Bridge Program Dates: June 2- July 15, except Thur, July 2, Monday-Thursday
School Start Time: 7:30 am Dismissal Time: 12:30 pm
To enroll in a Marion County Public School summer program, below the below steps:
Step #1: Complete the New Student Online Enrollment (NSOE) process for Marion County Public Schools. 2025-2026 school year students that attended a Marion County Public Schools VPK program have a student number and do not need to follow this step

This step will allow for applicants to be issued a student ID number to enroll in the Summer Bridge program.
Step #2: If your child meets the above eligibility requirements, please complete the Summer Bridge Interest Form here: 2026 Summer Bridge Interest Form – Fill out form
Step #3: Email your Statement of Eligibility form provided by your VPK provider to [email protected]
Rolling notifications for enrollment confirmation and additional information will be sent via email each Friday during the month of May and the first half of June.
