Our 2nd grade students have learned how children's book author and illustrator Eric Carle "paints his papers" before he turns them into art. Inspired by his painted papers, the students are finishing up their painted paper poppy project.
Here are a few samples!
Our 2nd grade students have been learning about colors that artists call "cool colors" and "warm colors"
COOL COOLORS are colors that help us feel "cooler" when we look at them, such as colors for the ocean, landscapes and snow.
The cool colors are blue, green and purple.
WARM COLORS are colors that help us feel "warmer" when we look at them, such as fire and the sun.
The warm colors are red, yellow and orange.
The 2nd grade students are finishing up their "Warm and Cool Color Collages". Here is a sample from Mia in Ms. Kelsey's class!
