The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma program is a rigorous international pre-univerisity course of study that meets the needs of the highly motivated secondary school student. The diploma program is designed as a comprehensive curriculum that allows its graduates to fulfill requirements of the various national systems of education. It provides students of different linguistic, cultural and education backgrounds with the intellectual, social, and critical perspectives necessary for the adult world that lies ahead of them. All IB Diploma candidates are required to engage in the study of languages, sciences, mathematics, and social studies in the final two years of their secondary schooling. Students who complete the IB Diploma requirements and the required community service hours will earn the Florida Academic Scholars Scholarship through the Bright Futures program.
IB students can choose from dozens of course offerings in the six subject groups:
- Group 1: Language and Literature
- Group 2: Language and Acquisition
- Group 3: Individuals and Societies
- Group 4: Sciences
- Group 5: Mathematics
- Group 6: The Arts
