The Marion County Public Schools (MCPS) English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum provides a comprehensive and coherent set of goals for all students. The curriculum is in alignment with the Language Arts Florida Standards (LAFS), adopted in 2014, and provides an outline for what each student should know and be able to do. Instruction using the Florida B.E.S.T Standards will begin in the 2022-2023 school year.

The district-adopted ELA textbook for grades 6-12 is myPerspectives FL by Savvas. myPerspectives Florida includes standards-based instructional materials and resources in print, digital, and blended formats to prepare all students for the workplace and college.

The MCPS ELA Program Specialist works to support schools in their efforts to provide standards-based, rigorous ELA instruction to all students and ensure that all students have equal access to a quality education.
