National Junior Honors Society
Sponsor(s): Mr. Scanlon
Purpose: The National Junior Honor Society is one of the leaders among educational organizations and societies that promotes recognition for middle school students who reflect outstanding accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character. The Honor Society member exhibits excellence in academics and leadership, displays honorable and admirable character, and demonstrates a commitment to service and good citizenship – all of which indicate that the member is willing to use personal talents and skills for the improvement of both self and society.
Requirements: Students are invited to participate in the National Junior Honor Society.
Club Meetings: Club meetings will take place during the school day.
Grade Levels: 7th and 8th
Major Activities: In the National Junior Honor Society, we have five committees that serve both the school and the community. The five committees are #BEaFRIEND, Peer Group, Charity Drive, Staff Appreciation, and New Student Ambassadors. #BEaFRIEND spreads positivity and kindness on campus through artwork. Peer Group works with students that need additional academic support. Charity Drive picks a new charity to support and sponsor each year. Staff Appreciation recognizes the hard work of faculty and staff on campus by doing kind acts for staff members. New Student Ambassadors provide support for new students on campus.
