Tubby the Tuba
Ms. Allen has used this story in her classrooms for many years and children have enjoyed hearing about how Tubby found and learned to appreciate his own special "timbre" (pronounced Tam-ber) which means his own sound.
Pay CLOSE ATTENTION to how the music goes from fast to slow (tempo) and from high to low (pitch) and how the music expresses how the characters in the story feel.
Also pay CLOSE ATTENTION to the different timbres of the instruments in the orchestra.
