• What is the Academic Team? The Academic Team is a group of  students who will compete in general knowledge trivia challenges.  Each game can have 4-6 players competing against players from schools in the surrounding area.  Students must possess a wide range of knowledge, a competitive spirit, the desire to learn and improve, and the ability to quickly recall information.  

    Cost: There is a $10 team fee.  

    Practice: The Academic Team will meet for practices will be held during Alpha Time in the Media Center every Monday and Friday.  

    Meets:  Each meet will take place on a Tuesday afternoon and begin promptly at 4pm.  Students will be responsible for their own transportation to meets that take place at other schools in Marion County.

    How do I study for A Team?  

    • Watch game shows!  Jeopardy! is on Netflix and is a great place to start prepping for A Team.  You can also watch old episodes of any other trivia style game shows like 500 Club or Who Wants to be a Millionaire.  

    • Read articles about subjects that interest you.  Not sure what to read?  Head to Wikipedia and check out the featured spotlights on:  article of the day, did you know, in the news, and on this day sections.  You can also click on the "random article" link on the left-hand side and click through until you find something that sparks your interest. 

    • Listen to podcasts about subjects you enjoy:  Stuff You Missed in History Class and Stuff You Should Know are two podcasts that are great starting points.  Listen to a podcast while you are driving home from school or while you are working out. 

    • Quiz yourself!  Sporcle is a website where you can take quizzes on all sorts of subjects.  Study Quizlets on your favorite subjects.  Download the Trivia Crack 2 app and practice questions while riding the bus in the mornings.  Play Trivial Pursuit with friends and family.   Visit Free Online Trivia every day for new quizzes to test yourself and learn more!
