Mrs. Julie Moore

Hello, my name is Julie Moore; I come to you with over 30 years of experience working with young children.  I have worked with children in a psychiatric facility, infants and toddlers in childcare, special needs elementary children, and I have taught pre-school and kindergarten. I also spent two years as Head Start Preschool director. I recently moved back to Florida after spending 23 years in Georgia.

My husband is a retired Marine and retired Deputy Sheriff.  We have been married for thirty-one years and have two children, Josh and Chris, who are both graduates from Georgia Institute of Technology.

I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Therapy from the University of Florida, and received experience in working with children and adults in an in-patient psychiatric hospital.   I returned to school at Kennesaw State University in Georgia and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. I am a Florida certified teacher (Pre-school thru third grade) with reading endorsement.

I am delighted to be a part of your child’s first years of school development and discovery.  I am looking forward to working with you as a partner to help your child develop self-confidence and self-discipline so that he/she can be successful in school and become a lifelong learner.  My goal as teacher is to facilitate learning in a fun and exciting way!

I am originally from Miami, Florida. I have lived in several other cities in Florida, Massachusetts and Georgia.  I love to travel and have traveled to 42 states and 37 countries.

This year I am happy to announce that my co-teacher is Mrs. Zdanowicz.

When I am not teaching; I love traveling with friends and family, scrapbooking, eating out, couponing and using power tools to remodel my home or fix a piece of furniture.

A few of my favorite things:

Restaurants: Cracker Barrel or Texas Road House

Fast Food:  Chick-Fil-A or Freddy’s

Color:  Turquoise

Stores: Wal-Mart and the Dollar Tree

Drinks: Dasani Water

Subjects to teach: Reading and Science

Quirky Dislike: I cannot drink Coffee or Tea!
