Welcome to West Port High School’s MCPS Online! We are glad you are a part of the Wolf Pack! The information below will help lead you through the road of success at West Port High School. Getting Started You will be able to view your schedules on Saturday, August 22nd. To view student schedules, log into your Skyward account on the student desktop – Select “Open Student Access” then click on the “Schedule” tab on the left-hand side. MCPS Online students will follow our bell schedule at home, including lunchtime. If you are registered for Period 18, this means 0 period that meets before the regular school day. Period 19 reflects a 7th period that meets after school. We will continue with our Hybrid Schedule which includes Periods 1-6 Monday -Wednesday and Block (Thursday 1, 3, 5 & Friday 2, 4, 6) with Student Improvement Time (SIT). Bell times are listed below:

Once you have your schedule, visit each teacher’s webpage on the West Port High School website at www.westportwolfpack.org under the Teacher Websites tab. Here, you’ll receive a brief introduction to the course, “meet” the teacher, and be directed to their online platform of either Microsoft Teams or Google Classroom. Both Teams and Google Classroom can be accessed through the student desktop. Students and parents can learn more about utilizing Microsoft Teams by watching the district tutorial on the District Webpage at www.marionschools.net or utilize the following link for West Port’s tutorial West Port High School MCPS Tutorial. We encourage you to complete these steps before Monday morning so you are ready for your first class on Monday, August 24th @ 9:12 a.m.

School Expectations While receiving your education from your home, you are still expected to follow West Port High School and Marion County School District standards of behavior outlined in the Marion County Student Code of Conduct along with the West Port High School Student Handbook. Failure to comply with school rules will result in disciplinary action. Our school-wide expectations set up or student for success. Remember to be Prompt, Prepared, Polite and Productive each and every day.
Students participating in an online platform need to practice proper netiquette. As digital citizens of West Port High School, students will interact in respectful and professional communications with their instructors, peers, and support staff. While participating in MCPSonline, students have an opportunity to grow digital skills that can easily translate to postsecondary work – whether they choose to enroll in college, enlist in the military, or become employed. Attendance Policies Attendance requirements are the same for the MCPSOnline format. Students need to be signed into Microsoft Teams or Google Classroom promptly at the start of each period. Regular attendance and active participation are important for student achievement. Please review our full attendance policy in our Student Handbook. If you are absent from class for any reason, documentation should be emailed to our attendance clerk, Mrs. Suranni, firstname.lastname@example.org. This correspondence, whether from a doctor or parent, should be submitted within 3 days of the absence with the following information: • Student Name • Dates of the Absence • Student Number • Reason for the Absence • Parent Phone Number
Required Documentation Each year, we need to revisit and revise student information to maintain appropriate and accurate school records. Cafeteria Information Some students are eligible to receive Free and Reduced meal prices. To view the Florida Income Eligibility Guidelines, click here, then review the informational documents below:

To effectively keep informed while you are away from campus, please make sure that your contact information is updated in Skyward. Parents, you can keep track of your student’s attendance, academic progress, discipline, and basic profile information through Skyward Family Access.
