Distance Learning Expectations (Please click link and read the online expectations for virtual students.)
***Marion County Public Schools may record online classroom sessions utilizing third-party platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.). These recordings will only be used for educational purposes and may be shared on other learning platforms. If you do not want your child’s image or identifying information recorded, utilize your device/platform controls to stop the camera feed from your device.
We will be using Microsoft Teams for our online lessons. Each day, during the time period for this Science class, students will log into Teams and join a meeting. From that meeting we will have bell work, move into the e-Textbook, or a number of other activities that will be just like the learning that students in the face-to-face classroom will be doing.
To learn how to access Teams, please click this link for a quick video: https://youtu.be/ZGWde1jqdT8
Assignments will be posted on the "Online Class Assignments" tab for students and parents to check in and see what students should be working on.
Online students will need a computer or other similar device that has reliable internet access, microphone, camera and a way to hear sound (speakers or headphones/earbuds). Printing of materials and forms will be necessary occasionally. This will be kept to a minimum as we understand ink gets expensive! Below are the class materials the online students will need either "daily" or "occasionally."
- Pencils and erasers -daily
- Notebook Paper -daily
- 1 Spiral notebook (college or wide ruled) to be used exclusively for this class -daily
- Graph Paper -occasionally
- Index Cards -occasionally
- Additional lab materials will be requested from time to time. These will be reasonable, easily accessible, household items.
