SLANT for distance Learning
Students in my online classes will be using MS Teams, which MUST be accessed through the student desktop.
We will hold all meetings and do most of our communication in TEAMS, but some assignments will need to be accessed through Google Classroom.
When TEAMS classes are activated on the 24th, check for a code that will enroll you in Google Classroom (this is because our online text and materials connects easily through Google Classroom, but is very limited with MS Teams at this time. The district is working on improving this.)
Online Classes will meet on a seven-period schedule. Please be at your online work place at the designated time, for all your online classes. We will be taking attendance, just like we would in a regular classroom.
If you cannot attend, I will make recordings of each lesson available in TEAMS, and all your work will be accessible online.
The link below is to a student/parent resource/help site. At the very bottom of the page is a hotline number to call for help with the computer or programs accesses.
***Marion County Public Schools may record online classroom sessions utilizing third-party platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.). These recordings will only be used for educational purposes and may be shared on other learning platforms. If you do not want your child’s image or identifying information recorded, utilize your device/platform controls to stop the camera feed from your device.
