Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Amy Duncan
Hello, and welcome to Dunnellon Middle School for the 2020-21 school year.
My name is Mrs. Amy Duncan and I am teaching 7th Grade Life Science and 8th Grade Physical Science. I am so excited to be leading our classes in the subject area I love the most SCIENCE!
I grew up right here in Dunnellon and started kindergarten right here on this campus! After I graduated Dunnellon High School, I moved to Gainesville and got my bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from The University of Florida. Then I moved right back home to Dunnellon! I started my career as the Citrus County 4-H Agent, where I lead club members and 4-H Leaders in “non-formal education” for a dozen years, through 4-H clubs, Camp, County Events contests and the County Livestock Youth Fair.
I’ve spent the last few years working at Dunnellon High School, and I’m thrilled to be starting the year here at Dunnellon Middle. We’ve ALL had a long break from the classroom and I know we are all ready to get back to school!
This is going to be a challenging year with all of the social distancing rules as we all work together to keep our students, teachers and staff healthy and safe. Through all of that we need to focus the exciting challenges ahead. Working and learning Science together.
I know without a doubt, if you work hard and do your best, either virtually or here in the classroom, you will be successful. This is going to be a challenging, but rewarding journey together.
I’m Mrs. Amy Duncan, welcoming you as the new 7th Grade Life Science and 8th Grade Physical Science teacher here at Dunnellon Middle School.
