A little about me...
Hello students and parents. It is truly a pleasure to be teaching at Forest High School. This will be my thirty-first year as both a teacher and coach.
I grew up in Vermont, where I attended the University of Vermont and began teaching high school PE at the tender age of 21. In 2000 I moved to the Washington DC area and began teaching social studies. There I taught World History, AP Psychology, AP World History, IB History of the Americans, AP US History and AP Government. In 2007 I moved to the Ocala area and taught social studies at The Villages Charter Schools and then moved here to MCPS.
Throughout those years I have been blessed to work with the most amazing teachers and administrations from whom I have learned a wealth of knowledge. It is this experience and knowledge that I hope I can pass along to my Forest family.
I have also been involved in coaching many different sports from football and basketball, to cross country, track, weightlifting and even crew. I have been lucky to work with outstanding coaches and have been blessed to be a part of numerous district, regional and state championships, including the 2011 4x100 Boys 3A State Champions (below). In 2014 I was honored as the FACA Girls Cross Country District Coach of the Year and look forward to bring this same success to Forest HS.
