I was born in Burlington, VT in 1971 but was raised here in Marion County. I attended Reddick Elementary and North Marion Middle and High Schools. I graduated from NMHS in 1989 and joined the U.S. Navy. I served aboard the USS Shenandoah AD-44 during the first Gulf War. After leaving the military, I attended Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, earning my A.A. degree. I then transfered to the University of Florida and earned a B.A. in history and followed that with a M.Ed. in social studies education. I have taught five years at North Marion High School and twelve years at Lake Weir High School. This will be my second year teaching at West Port High School. I am looking forward to having a rewarding and succesful nineteenth year of teaching Marion County students!
