Why can't I see my (child's) updated grade? I know everything has been turned in.
Thank you for sharing your concern. Due to the number of students I have and the number of times the same standard can be submitted for a grade, it is not always possible for me to have Skyward updated the same day. Please make sure you (your child) keeps their Standards-Mastery log up to date for confirmation of completed work, and I will ensure they Skyward is always up-to-date as of 8:00 am on Monday Morning.
My (child's) grade isn't as high as I hoped this quarter, is there a possibility for extra credit?
Because we are implementing Standards-Based Grading, the score in Skyward reflects your (your child's) current level of mastery. With extra help and multiple attempts allowed, you will have the opportunity to raise your grade, but it will not be in the form of extra credit.
My child is struggling with basic multiplication and division. How can I support the learning process?
There are a number of things that can be done.
- Have your student write the facts they don't know 5 times each (or more if necessary).
- Purchase (or make) flashcards with the facts on them. You can also print them from here.
- Download a fluency app on to your (or their) phone (or tablet).
- Have them practice on Xtra Math (send me an email so I can set up their account).
