Welcome to week 3 of Distance Learning and Speech and Language Therapy. The Governor has said we will finish out the year this way so here we go. I have enjoyed talking to you and your parents and look forward to that again this week. Keep up all of the good work I have heard you are doing form your teachers as well. I have added an activity related to ordering your own food at a Fast Food Restaurant. This is great practice for Life Skills, Speech Skills and Language usage. I can’t wait to hear how you do with that. Also, I have updated the finish the sentences page so there are new phrases there to practice as well. This week I have added an ongoing chore activity. If you and your parents want to have you practice the activity it gives you step by step directions. I know you know how to do these skills but it is again a great practice for following directions. There is also a new Wh- questions page. Please remember these do not all have to be done and when I call we will practice some these as well. I want to make sure there are plenty of activities for you to have available if you want some things to target. Have a great week and i will be calling soon but remember you can call me anytime at 352-405-2425. Mrs. Branson
Pick your favorite Fast Food Restaurant and order up!
Answer the wh-questions and then tell about your favorite beach trip.
Pick a chore with the help of your parents and following the step by step directions.
This activity is about our children being able to give basic information. This is so important for safety as well as future independence employability. This will be an ongoing activity to keep them practicing these skills. IF they do not know them we will focus just on one each week.
Finally, here is a little game to play. This is making sure our students answer and ask the correct question -wh-questions can sometimes confuse our students. So use this to play a game and have a little fun while learning at the same time.
Here is a social story on the Coronavirus IF you need to or want to use with your child. It might help to give them something to see and hear that they can understand. Others of you have said you had had too much about that so know this is just an option.
