    CKLA SKILLS WORKBOOK

    1. Answer comprehension questions For "In The Storm Shelter"- Workbook 14.1

2.Complete lesson 15.2 (plural endings) in your Skills workbook

IMPORTANT - Throughout the school year, the students have been working very hard on answering questions in "complete sentences". What this means is that if the question asks "Did Grace like the storm?"...

the answer should contain part of the question. For example "Yes, Grace did like the storm because...". By answering as such "yes", there is no connection between the answer and the question. The reader needs to

know what the answer "yes" pertains to.

Another example would be "What is Grace's problem?". The answer should read "Grace's problem was that she did not have enough cash for the books." rather than the short answer "She didn't have cash."

This skills is extremely important as the students move through 2nd grade and higer, it is a critical part of their writing skills. If you could work with your child on answering in complete sentences, that would be great!
