• Mrs. Winkler’s 2nd Grade Lesson Plans for Week of April 6-10, 2020

     

    Math

    Standard: MAFS 2.MD.1.3 Estimate lengths using units of inches, feet, yards, centimeter, and meters.

    Math Assignment: Go Math Lessons: 8.3, 8.7, 9.2, and 9.6.

    The interactive lessons have been assigned to the students.  They will need to access the “Think Central” app on their desktop in the Student Portal located in the programs tab on the bottom. Make sure you press turn in or save so that I can see if you completed the lessons. Please email me the percentage correct your child got on each assignment.

    i-Ready Math: Complete 45-60 minute of i-Ready Math each week.  Students get to i-Ready Math by signing into their portal. 

    Note to Students:   You should be passing every test you take.   If you do not pass a test, you will have to do the same lesson again.   Be sure to pay close attention so you can do your best.   You need to take the quizzes by yourself.    You do not have to submit any work to your teacher for this because you teacher can see the work you have completed online.  

     

    ELA

    Standard:  LAFS.2.RL.2.5 Describe the overall structure of a story, including describing how the beginning introduces the story and the ending concludes the action

    Assignment 1:  Read the two stories and fill out the bottom portion of the worksheets (see attachment above labeled 'ELA Assignments April 6-10')Phonics- Practice page 219 front and back (see attachment above labeled 'ELA Assignments April 6-10')

    Assignment 3:  Writing- Write about your favorite movie. What happens in the beginning, middle and end? (see attachment above labeled 'ELA Assignments April 6-10')

    Submit answers to your teacher through pictures to their email or type the answers in an email. 

    If you do not have a printer at home to print the pages in the attachment, you can write your answers on a separate paper and email the pictures to me. 

    Accommodation for students who cannot write:   The parent can type the sentences the student says into the email to the teacher. 

     

    i-Ready Reading: Complete 45-60 minute of iReady Reading each week.

    Independent Reading:  Read for 20 or more minutes each day.    Send your teacher a list of the books you read.   You can either send a list of what you read each day, or you can send a list one time a week of all the books you read that week.   This is due by Friday each week. 

     

    Social Studies

    Standard: SS.2.A.2.3 Describe the impact of immigrants on the Native Americans

    Social Studies Assignment:  Studies weekly Week 11 Pilgrims To America.  Complete the questions AND test.

    Read Studies Weekly Week 11 and answer all the questions in each section and complete the assigned test.   Please make sure you click save or turn in when you have completed the assignment.  When you have earned reward coins, you may use them to play the games in Studies Weekly. 

    You do not have to send picture to your teacher for this because they can see the test  you have completed online.  

     

    Science

    Standard:  SC.2.E.6.1:  Recognize that Earth is made up of rocks.  Rocks come in many sizes and shapes. 

    Science Assignment:   Please click the STEMscopes icon on the desktop and click STEMscopedia- Rocks.  Read the passage and answer the questions that are in the passage.   A parent or sibling can help you read the passage if it is too hard to read.   Please make sure you click save and turn in.  

     There is also a Content Connections Video about Rocks for you to watch. 

    The Science assignments take 24 hours to show up after I assign them.   They will be there by Monday 4/6. 

     

    Special Area Assignments

    Special Area Assignment Schedule for 2nd and 3rd Graders:

    Please look at the Art, Music and PE Teachers’ Websites as they will have an assignment for the students to complete, 1 Special Area class per week

    (This is the schedule for 2nd and 3rd Grades).    The expectation is that at least one assignment will be turned in for Art, Music, and PE once every 3 weeks, but if you can do PE every week that would be great!
