    Activity: Dirty Water Experiment (Activity in Week 15 - Share the Earth)

    In your acadmic notebook, draw what happened with the water.  Divide your paper at the top with a vertical line. On the left draw the clean water and on the left draw what happened when you put the dirt or sand into the water.  Answer these questions in your writing after you observe what happens. (write complete sentences).   ***Send pic to email

    • What happened to the dirt?
    • Where is most of the dirt?
    • Which part is the cleanest?

    OPTIONAL BUT SO MUCH FUN:

    Make a marble drop!  Watch the youtube video to get ideas: How to Make a Marble Drop!

    You can use recyled materials from around your house!  Ask your parents to help you when cutting different pieces for the marble drop.  I would use paper towel holders, cereal boxes, tape, plastic water bottles and any other materials that you thing will make a cool marble drop.  There are lots of youtube videos on how to do it.  Make a simple one! Have fun and make the marble move with force!

    Experimenting With Pushes And Pulls To Paint A Masterpiece

    How to Paint with Marbles!

    Watch the YouTube video on painting. Make your own painting, items you will need: You might want to mix your colors to create more colors for creativity. (Use the marble and paint in your baggie or use your own)

    • paint
    • paper (sturdy)
    • box (cereal box) or baking dish 
    • marble or marbles
    • spoon
    • something to put the paint in

    As it was demonstrated on the video, use pushes and pulls to create a materpiece.  Move the box or your container up and down and side to side to move your marble.  The force will help to move the marble and the paint will glide in different ways on your paper.  **Send a picture of your masterpiece to email**

    MyOn Reading: Read the following book.  In your academic notebook make a vertical line in the picture area, label the left side push and the right side pull. Draw three different ways that you can push and pull different things.  Think about the book about Pushes and Pulls and the examples in each.  Label each picture.

    Watch the YouTube video on ramps. Make your own ramp, use items around your house to make a simple ramp. Take your toys, crayons, pencils, can from kitchen, etc. and test the ramp.  Do some objects go down faster than others?  Why do you think that happens - talk with your mom or dad as you experiment with different items on the ramp.

    Watch the YouTube video on sounds and make your own sounds with different objects. In the video they used plastic, wood, metal, listen and compare as you make your own sound symphony! Have Fun!!

    Activity: This is a read aloud about the three states of matter.  After listening to the story, in your academic notebook, divide the paper into thirds, by drawing 2 horizontal lines. *Parents please help them to divide the paper into thirds.  Students should label and illustrate the three stages of matter.  Take a picture and send your completed work to my email.
