Meet Ms. Faulconer

Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Faulconer

Originally from South Florida, I received my Associate of Arts degree from Broward College and my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Florida International Univerisity.  Prior to teaching at Sunrise Elementary I owned a South Florida painting studio, taught as an Adjunct Instructor at the College of Central Florida and also was the Exhibit Coordiantor for The Webber Gallery and the Brick City Center for the Arts.

While at both the Brick and the Webber Galleries I collaborated on program developement, which included creating family events and Summer Camps. One Summer program initated while at the Brick City Center of the Arts and based on the work of artist Jacob Lawrence, developed into the creation of the Black History Mural located at the Martin Luther King Recreational Complex.  I was grateful to work with the city last year on the restoration of the project.

I am passionate about Art and Art history, as well as the impotance of art and creative thinking in the STEAM environment.  I have college age twins and in my free time teach and enjoy painting, sculpting, gardening and reading.
