  • The Hunger Games Series

by Suzanne Collins Year Published: 2008-2010

Experience descriptive writing about a dystopian society called Panem, where the poor serve the rich in a twisted annual event called the Hunger Games. These books truly allow the reader into the mind of Katniss Everdeen, the heroine, as she navigates the brutalities of both the Hunger Games and those running it. All three books in the series have so many twists and turns that by the end of it, you won't know the difference between right and wrong anymore.

  • Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children Series

by Ransom Riggs Year Published: 2011-2019

This is a series composed of five different books, three of which I have read and fell in love with! I am currently working on finishing the final two books :) There is a movie based upon the series, and though it is a great movie, it does not do the series justice! The series is about a group of children and teenagers who each have unqiue powers, known as "Peculiars". A young boy named Jacob was living a boring life until he discovered a family secret: he is a Peculiar himself! Join Jacob in his journey to find out the turth and defeat the evil Hollows that run rampant feasting on the eyeballs of Peculiars! The author Ransom Riggs includes real vintage photofraphs depicting humans with their own peculiar abilities.....

  • Harry Potter Books 1-7

by J.K. Rowling Year Published: 1997-2007

If you want to feel like you're home, join the magical world of Harry Potter. The Harry Potter series is extremely popular, both the books and the movies, and I am here to tell you it is popular for a reason! I actually did not read these books until about three years ago because I had seen the movies and thought that's all I needed. However, there are unimaginely details in these books that blow the movies out of the water and transport you to a magical place of love, friendship, disaster, and beautiful tragedies.
