• We will be using google classroom as our main platform. You must  use your school email and password when using google classroom (email: firstname.lastname@marionstudents.net).


    What will a week look like?

    At the start of each week, I will post instructions with a video much like this one explaining what to do each week. The videos hopefully won’t be too long and will clarify any questions you have. 

    You will be expected to complete 2-3 activities a week. All due dates will be posted when the assignment is given. For many assignments, you will post and participate in a discussion board with your classmates. I will post the discussion board question or prompt in google classroom. Not only will you be expected to answer the prompt on your own, you will also need to respond to at least two other classmates’ responses. Other assignments will be completed in google docs/slides as usual. 


    I must still legally take attendance everyday. To make this easy, I will post a simple bellwork question each morning (9:00 am) for you to complete. This bell work will be labeled “Attendance Bellwork (date).” Please aim to complete the attendance bellwork BEFORE 3:15. If you do not complete the bellwork before this time, you will be marked absent. 


    What if I need help? 

    Just because we are no longer face to face does not mean you can’t ask me for help. Monday through Friday, I will have office hours TWICE a day via zoom conferencing. My morning hours are 11-12 and my afternoon hours are 2-3. Through zoom, we will be able to video chat and discuss any questions about what I’ve assigned. These zoom conferences are for students seeking help or guidance—this is not time to socialize with friends. If you choose to participate in a zoom conference, the links will be posted daily in google classroom. 


    Guidelines for zoom conferencing:

    -Be in an area away from distractions. 

    -Be respectful of everyone in the chat.

    -Please do not have your lunch while participating.

    -Ask questions. 

    -Mute your mic when entering. 

    -Dress appropriately if you have your video on. 


    Zoom conferences are not mandatory—think of them like ALPHA Time hours. Use them if you need help or want clarification. 


    DISCLAIMER: Marion County Public Schools may record online classroom sessions utilizing third-party platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.).  These recordings will only be used for educational purposes and may be shared on other learning platforms.  If you do not want your child’s image or identifying information recorded, utilize your device/platform controls to stop the camera feed from your device.
