      I understand that eLearning is new for all us.  I will do my best to help guide all of you through this as we embark on this journey together.  Our second grade team has spent time collaborating together on what resources to use to help your child continue their learning from home.  We are attempting to use websites and programs that they are familiar with to make this transition easy for both you and your child.  Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

      Daily: Monday - Friday

      I plan to post assignments on this Website under the E-Learning Daily Assignments page.  My team and I have created a schedule of tasks for student learning.  We will update this on our websites each week.  All assignments for the week are due by Friday of that week.  If your child needs extra help or more time, please reach out so that I can assist in any way possible.  

       

      If you do not have a device for your child to access learning activities provided online, or internet access, packets will be provided at school each week.  We have made these packets to mirror what we are providing online.  We want to keep all students learning the same content. All assignments for the week are due by Friday of that week. All assignments will need to be emailed or a picture of the work can be texted to me.  Assignments will be graded for this quarter.  

       

      The packets provided by the district at schools and Walmart locations prior to April 1 are not required home learning.  We will not be taking grades on those packets, nor should they be returned to schools.  We are also not collecting any of the packets that will be used for those not using eLearning.  Please keep these at home.  

       

      Some activities are assigned to students' Portal.  This is their personal account they log into through Marion County Schools website.  Once on this page, students will click on the computer icon in the top blue bar that says MCPS Desktop or simply click here.  Students will then log in with their username and id (each child should know this information, contact me if they have forgotten).  For some assignments (iReady, Think Central, Social Studies Weekly), students will have these activities linked to their account and will access them the same way they would in our classroom.  For others, I will be providing the documents for students to download and/or print.  Please refer to the E-Learning Daily Assignments page of my website for these activities.  

       

      I will be collecting assignments online in a variety of ways. Think Central and iReady do not require students to print or send me their assignments outside of the program.  For Think Central, they will have to push the Turn In button when they have completed their activity.  For iReady, they just need to monitor the amount of time they spend working on their lessons.  Other assignments will need to be "sent in" through other avenues.  I will accept pictures of completed work (sent through email), typed responses through email.  If you have another method that you think may work better for you, please contact me so we can make arrangements.
