Learning Objectives:
1. Students will watch STEMscopes Science Rock-Adaptation Video.
2. Students will read STEMscopedia-Adaptations and answer comprehension questions.
3. Students will read STEMscopes-Science Today and answer comprehension questions.
Graded Assignments:
Students will submit their Science assignments through the STEMscopes program or a picture of completed student work submitted through email to Matthew.Nereim@marion.k12.fl.us
Be sure to include Student Name and Date of Completion in order to recieve assignment credit

At-Home-Learning Week 3 (4/13/2020 - 4/17/2020)
Topic: Adaptations
Focus Standard: SC.5.L.17.1
Compare and contrast adaptations displayed by animals and plants that enable them to survive in different environments such as life cycles variations, animal behaviors and physical characteristics.
Student Learning Goal: I can explain how different animal and plant adaptations help them survive in different environments.
Check For Understanding: Students will complete the “Multiple Choice Assessment” in StemScopes after completing this week’s classwork

- Students will go to StemScopes and read the “Science Today” article. Then students will answer and submit the 5 comprehension questions under the short article.
- Students will read through “STEMscopedia — Adaptation” and complete the “What do you think?” sections and questions at the bottom of the page.
- Student can use the “Picture Vocabulary”
- Next, Student will complete the “Concept Review Game” in STEMscopes
- Finally, Students will complete the “Multiple Choice Assessment” in STEMscopes for the graded assignment for the week. (Will be available 4/15/2020)

Compare and contrast the function of organs and other physical structures of plants and animals, including humans, for example: some animals have skeletons for support -- some with internal skeletons others with exoskeletons -- while some plants have stems for support.
