About Mrs. Kelley Harriss
Mrs. Harriss was born and raised in Ocala and earned her Bachelor's Degree from Florida State University and her Master's Degree from Nova Southeastern University. She taught English for four years at Osceola Middle School and Forest High School, before becoming a school counselor. She has been a school counselor for 23 years (Forest High School, Tallahassee's Fairview Middle School, Eighth Street Elementary School and Vanguard High School) and absolutely loves her job and working with high school students.
Mrs. Harriss is married to her husband, Wally, and they have two sons who both graduated from Vanguard High School, Grant and Reid.
She is a true supporter of Florida State University and of the Seminoles... her parents met at and graduated from FSU, she and her two sisters all graduated from there, her oldest son graduated from Florida State, and her youngest son is a student at FSU, now.
Mrs. Harriss has several hobbies including photography, birding, and collecting historic Ocala postcards & memorabilia. She is a volunteer photographer for Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep and has a part-time photography business.
