    • A club for students who are enrolled in a Health Science program, or plan to pursue a career in healthcare.

    How to join HOSA

    • Have a 2.0 unweighted GPA
    • complete the required forms Parent Consent To Participate COVID Questionairre
    • Bring the forms to Mrs. Glisson in 10-112 before or after school (forms will NOT be accepted from 9:25 – 3:25)
    • After forms are turned in, dues can be paid through Skyward
    • Attend HOSA meetings in Loft or via Teams
    • Participate in BHS HOSA activities This year’s Florida HOSA Springs Region Competition will likely be virtual. The date is unknown at this time, but probably a Saturday at the end of January / early February. There will be a separate fee for students who compete.  Information on the cost & when it is due will be provided to members as soon as it is available. 

    HOSA assists members to:

    • Develop effective leadership qualities and skills
    • Build self-confidence, motivation and enthusiasm
    • Strengthen their academic and technical skills
    • Create friendships and social networks
    • Participate in community service activities
    • Set realistic career and educational goals
    • Expand communication and teamwork skills
    • Develop workplace readiness skills
    • Understand current healthcare issues

    HOSA members have opportunities to:

    • Celebrate competitive events program accomplishments 
    • Apply for HOSA scholarships and recognitions
    • Travel to regional, state, and national conferences
    • Serve as local, regional, state, and national officers
    • Build their resume
    • Collaborate with health professionals and future employers
    • Seek internships in the Office of the Surgeon General and others
