Science Fair in Document Form Science Fair Project

    2019

September 3                Topic:  Begin looking for an experimental topic to use for your science fair project. When you submit this topic please tell me what you are testing (independent variable) and how you will measure this (dependent variable).

This is the most important step to ensure a smooth Science Fair Project.

September 23              Topic is due and must be approved before continuing

September 26            Mandatory student and parent meeting- filling out forms, learning the rules

September 24              Background Research – list 10-20 facts about a topic from 5 or more references.

The references will help you with your bibliography later.

September 24              Hypothesis due– Written as if…then….because.

September 27              Materials & Procedures due – I need to know ALL supplies needed and this needs to be written so a person can replicate your experiment and have all the step by step directions to not make any mistakes. You might need to provide some of your own supplies. Please include Risk and Safety. I have SDS sheets in my classroom.

October 7                    Begin Experiment (Nothing is due, just begin by this time)

YOU HAVE THREE WEEKS TO COMPLETE ALL TESTING REQUIRED FOR YOUR PROJECT!!!!!!!!

October 28                  Data Tables, Graphs due – You must have both graphs and tables to display your data.

November 1                ConclusionIn your conclusion describe what took place in your experiment, if your hypothesis

was correct, and use the data to support your answer.

    November 6               Display Boards due

November 7 & 8         Presentations during Cane Periods
