• Week of March 30:

You will read two texts and complete a Google Slides presentation on them that you will submit through Google Classroom.

I am also posting a writing assignment on Google Classroom that you will submit through Google Docs.

If you have questions, be sure to email me at Brandon.Tank@marion.k12.fl.us

    -------

You will read "A Rose for Emily" by William Faulkner and "Because I could not stop for Death" by Emily Dickinson. Although different, they both explore similar themes.

After reading them, you will make a Google Slides presentation. It should have a title slide with your name on it. There should be three more slides: two for the major themes of each work and a third that compares both works. Each slide should have an appropriate image on it. Each slide should also be designed well with a background and proper sizing for text and image.

    -------

You will type your essay in Google Docs and submit it through the assignment page. The essay must have a minimum of two typed pages. It should be double-spaced using 12 point Times New Roman font.

Topic: How is the theme of death used in “A Rose for Emily” and “Because I could not stop for Death”? How does each author express the theme through word choice and imagery? Why do you think death is such a prominent theme in literature?

Be sure to include details from each text to support your response.
