Algebra 1 is the study of the structure of the real number system with specific attention to algebraic properties and operations, problem solving, and higher-order thinking skills. Topics of study includes variables, expressions, linear and non-linear equations, functions, inequalities, ratio, proportion, factoring polynomials, graphing on the number line and in the coordinate plane, properties of slope, and operations involving exponents. This course will fulfill graduation requirement and provide a second math credits.
All assignments must be completed to earn credit for this course. The average of all scores on the mastery tests, quizzes, classwork, and homework will determine final grade.

Participation is being active and engaged in the classroom. The more you participate the more impact you will have in your learning. I expect each student to eagerly volunteer and interact with lessons via seatwork, board work, bell work, or question and answering session as well as ANY other means of learning.
Try your hardest to complete and turn in assignments on the original due date! Late work will be graded as (-10) points per day late.
MAKE UP POLICY
If for an uncontrollable reason you are out and need to make-up an assignment, according to the Marion County Student Handbook, you will be given one day for each day you are out to turn in or make up any assignment. For example: If you are out 2-days, upon returning you will have 2 days to complete and turn in missed assignment before receiving a zero (0) as final grade.
Assignment re-do or corrections will be addressed during ALPHA Time. APHFA time for Mrs. Williams is the first half of lunchtime. You must submit an ALPHA request date and time prior to re-doing or correcting assignments.
