I am Jessica Funk and I am so excited to explore the world of virtual learning with my 1st grade students this school year!
A little bit about me...
I grew up in Pennsylvania where I earned my teaching degree at Lock Haven University. I have more than 10 years of experience teaching students from a range of elementary grade levels, but kindergarten and first grade have always been my favorite. I live with my husband, our two dogs, and we just welcomed our daughter; Avalon, into this world this past January (2020). When I'm not growing the minds of my students, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
2020-2021 School Year
This school year will be different than any other school year that we have experienced. We are all facing unknown obstacles and new challenges, but we will overcome those difficulties together! I am a firm believer of finding the 'good' in every situation. This year, we will find many great new ways to learn, connect, and succeed.
Throughout this school year, I will be teaching through live video lessons, recorded lessons, and online assignments. We will be utalizing Microsoft Teams and Classdojo (as well as the usual curriculum programs which are found in your child's school portal). Parent involvement is greatly encouraged and appreciated during virtual learing. We are all in this together and with us all working as a team; your child will soar to exceed their goals.
Any time you have any questions or need to get in touch with me, please never hesitate to email, message, or call me.
