Today we talked about binomial probabilities using binompdf and cdf. Be very careful about what interval they want, and what interval CDF tells you at certain values

Today we found the mean and standard deviation of binomial probabilities.

Today we worked with geometric probability and found the odds that an event occurs for the FIRST time on the Nth try.

Mean and Standard Deviation of Discrete Random Variables

11/12

Today we discussed transforming data and recalculating mean and standard deviations

Transformations are when we create a new function by multiplying and adding or subtracting.

Notes

11/13

Today we discussed creating new functions by combining functions and seeing the effects of the mean and standard deviation

Today we learned how to use the z-table and calculators to find z-scores associated withh areas under the normal curve.

In other words, we usually have a value, obtain a z score, and determine the area udnerneath.... But today we were given the area underneath, determined the z-score associated, and found the vlaue associated with that z score.

10/16

Today we talked about percentiles and z-scores

Notes

At the end of the day, Percentiles and Z-Scores show the position of data relative to the rest of the data. This is wildly important!

10/17

Today was a work day to digest all the ideas about percentiles, z-scores, and data analysis.

There were a LOT of khan academies but you had 50 minutes to work on them

Get them done, this is a great foundation for Q2 to build on :)

10/18-10/19

Today we learned about the normal distribution, the empiracal rule, and using the z-tables to find areas under the normal distribution
