Welcome to Mrs. Zunich's Kindergarten class webpage. The best way to contact me is through my email address which is email@example.com. To leave a message on voicemail call the school number 352-465-6710 and my extension is 51575. Some assignments may not have a spot for answers please email these. We will be using our class DOJO page to keep in touch with parents. Packets will be available at the school and online to print for students without the technology to use online learning. Make time to play outside, take frequent "brain breaks" when working, and of course... READ! Marion County Public Schools may record online classroom sessions utilizing third-party platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.). These recordings will only be used for educational purposes and may be shared on other learning platforms. If you do not want your child's image or identifying information recorded, utilize your device/platform controls to stop the camera feed from your device.
Office Hours are 8:00am - 9:00am and 1pm - 2pm
Many assignments will be completed by clicking the desktop tile (such as "Science Weekly") and then clicking on "assignments". In Myon it is called "Projects". It may be difficult for students to do online learning every day. This is why they are not due the day they are assigned, and due dates are generally 7-10 days out. I recommend getting the app "Teach Your Monster to Read" if your child likes to work on an tablet or phone. It provides essential phonics exercises, and is tons of fun.
Storyline Online is a great site that reads popular stories to the kids. Please let me know what books the students are watching, and we can share a list of favorites.

Please try to take some time each day to work on the sight words list in the back of the red folders. I suggest working on 10 unknown words at a time. Write each word on an index card or piece of paper and have the child spell it, read it, and write it. When you move to the next 10 words, review reading the previous words before beginning each sesson. Try spending 20 minutes on these each session.
