What is Accelerated Reader?
Accelerated Reader (AR) is a computerized reading program which allows students to take tests on books and earn rewards as they reach goals. The AR Program provides teachers and children a fun and exciting way to promote reading at home and in the classroom. Computers for AR testing are set up in the Media Center, and in each classroom. We aim for students to score 85% or higher on their AR tests. The minimum score AR requires in order for the quiz to count toward a student’s goals is at least a 60% on 5- and 10-question quizzes and at least a 70% on 20-question quizzes. Parents can monitor their children's progress through AR Home Connect. Use your student's id number for the username and the password is the 2 digit birth month and 4 digit birth year of the student.
During this period of distance learning, AR tests are accessible at home!
