Welcome students and families! I am a native Floridian and grew up in the Southeastern Florida area of Hollywood. I moved to Marion County in 2002 to raise my family. I have two daughters aged 9 and 14 and my 14 year old is a freshman at Westport High! We have three dogs, a cat and a few fish. We enjoy family time traveling to the beach, visiting friends and family and running to lots of sporting events. I am a proud graduate of the University of Florida - Go Gators! We have a lot of Latin American flavor in our family's cultural heritage. My father was a Cuban born American and we have a lot of extended family from Puerto Rico and El Salvador, which of course means lots of good food, great music and celebrations!
I began my career as a counselor working with children in a psychiatric hospital setting. I worked in various school settings in Broward County with varying exceptionalities, supported classrooms, and mainstream academic classrooms. I have worked as a counselor with children and families in the private sector and have a passion for educating the whole person.
I have recently transitioned to Westport High School and am beyond excited to be working with such a diverse student population and such awesome educators! I have been welcomed and supported in the Math Department and in the ESE Department and am incredibly blessed and grateful to be beginning an exciting journey with each one of my new students and look forward to watching them graduate from Westport High! Go Wolfpack!
