    General Information 

    Description 

    This course covers fundamental principles of designing a game or simulation application, rules and strategies of play, conditional branching, design and development constraints, use of sound and animation, design tools, and implementation issues.  The content includes market research, product design documentation, storyboarding, proposal development, and presentation of a project report.  emphasis is placed on the techniques needed to develop well-documented, structured game or simulation programs.  Extensive use is made of evaluating and analyzing existing games or simulations. 

    Expectations and Goals 

    Hands-on activities using an entry-level game development tool will be used to design and create a playable game with design documentation.  

     

     

    Students are asked to join my google classroom page.  You will be able to find information about assignments and class discussions on the Google classroom website.  Students should type in the following URL http://classroom.google.com.  Students will sign in by using their school email and password.  Students should then find an add link on the upper right-hand side of their Google Classroom Page.  Students should enter the following code to join Game and Simulation Design at North Marion High School.  School: ifrrpo

    Make-Up Work 

    • All daily activities and homework will be posted on my school website.  If absent it is the student's responsibility to check website or absent binder in classroom. 
    • If a student is absent during a project they will need to see teacher for makeup lab hours/alternative assignment (if needed). 

    Homework 

    • Homework is expected to be turned in by assigned deadline.   
    • Any late assignments will have points deducted. 
    • If assignment is more than 1-week past deadline it will NOT be accepted, unless previous authorization from teacher.
