    General Information 

    Description 

    This course is designed to provide a basic overview of current business and information systems and trends, and to introduce students to fundamental skills required for today's business and academic environments.  Emphasis is placed on developing fundamental computer skills.  The intention of this course is to prepare students to be successful both personally and professionally in an information-based society.  Advanced Information Technology includes the exploration and use of databases, the internet, spreadsheets, presentation applications, management of personal information and email, word processing and document manipulation, HTML, web page design, and the integration of these programs using software that meets industry standards.  After successful completion of this core course, students will have met Occupational Completion Point A, Information Technology Assistant. 

    Expectations and Goals 

     

    Students are asked to join my google classroom page.  You will be able to find information about assignments and class discussions on the Google classroom website.  Students should type in the following URL http://classroom.google.com.  Students will sign in by using their school email and password.  Students should then find an add link on the upper right-hand side of their Google Classroom Page.  Students should enter the following code to join Advanced Information Technology at North Marion High School.  School: g4h1qk

    Make-Up Work 

    • All daily activities and homework will be posted on my school website.  If absent it is the student's responsibility to check website or absent binder in classroom. 
    • If a student is absent during a project they will need to see teacher for makeup lab hours/alternative assignment (if needed). 

    Homework 

    • Homework is expected to be turned in by assigned deadline.   
    • Any late assignments will have points deducted. 
    • If assignment is more than 1-week past deadline it will NOT be accepted, unless previous authorization from teacher.
