Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Dawn Kinne

My name is Dawn Kinne and this is my 3rd year teaching at Greenway as the Grades 3 - 5, Varying Exceptionality Self-Contained ESE teacher. I trained for my master's degree with a specialization in Exceptional Student Education at Saint Leo University.

My husband and I have lived in Ocala for 8 years and we love it here. We have a two-year-old grandson and 3 dogs. In my spare time, I love to work outside in my garden.

I believe that all students can learn when they are accepted for who and where they are in their educational journey. I believe that students learn best when they can relate learning material to meaningful experiences, such as life outside of school, experiences with family, relatives, and culture. I believe that everything students learn in school should also be tied into real life so that they can see the practicality in learning. A teacher's enthusiasm and conviction for learning is something that influences a students' attitude toward education.

Learning material relevant to student's lives is essential but even more so in the manner in which it is taught. I believe each student has a different way in which they receive information - some more visual, some more aural, some more kinesthetic. As your child's teacher, I will do my best to provide opportunities for students to learn through differentiation.

Effective learning requires collaboration between teachers, students, and parents grounded in mutual respect and trust.
