    Course Description: WORLD HISTORY – 2109310- This course will provide students with cultural, historical, and geographical views of the world, including both western and non- western civilizations. Particular emphasis will be placed on geographical, political, economic, and legal developments of cultures throughout history. This course is designed to increase the student’s understanding of the interdependence of the many cultures operating in the present world.Click here to enter text.

     

    Supplies Needed:

    • College-ruled Composition notebook
    • Blue or Black pen & highlighters
    • #2 Pencils
    • Loose leaf paper
    • Folder specifically for this class

     

    Class Expectations:

    1. BE COOPERATIVE: Participate in class discussion and activities. Listen-not talk-when others are speaking.
    2. BE RESPECTFUL: Profane language or purposefully hurtful comments or actions towards me or other students will not be tolerated.
    3. BE RESPONSIBLE: Have your supplies and homework, if applicable, with you at the start of class. Also finish your “snacks” BEFORE entering the classroom. Bottles of water are permitted in class. You must be IN you assigned seat with your materials out and ready to work WHEN the tardy bell rings. If not, you are tardy!
    4. BE SAFE: Follow all directions; don’t throw anything away, keep desk and chair legs on the floors. Backpacks must be kept under the desk.

     

     

    Class Procedures:

    1. Absolutely NO CELL PHONES out during class, unless specified. If I catch you with it out your will be given a referral after the second warning. You are also not allowed to charge your cellphone during class.
    2. If you are absent on a test day you must make it up before schools between 8:30 am- 9:30am, ASAP
      1. After one week a zero will be placed in if you have not made the test up.
    3. When you are absent YOU are responsible for obtaining the necessary make-up work. You may get the class notes from another student or see me BEFORE school between 9:00 am – 9:30am. I will NOT be available to give you the necessary make up work during the regular class time.
    4. All homework and classwork will be placed into your folder.
    5. You should have your notebook and folder, and all supplies every class.
    6. Late work policy: If work is turned in one day late, 10 points will be taken off. If the work is turned in 2 days late, then 20 points will be taken off. After 3 days, 50 points are taken off. After one week, it is a 0 in the grade book.
    7. If you have a valid doctor’s note explaining your absence, I will accept your work the day after you come back. A parent’s note will not suffice.
    8. I reserve the right to add any other procedures if needed throughout the year.
