BSIM Purdue University MBA Nova Southeastern

Mr. Bryan Crary

I was born in Hammond Indiana in 1957 and grew up next door in Munster Indiana.  I thought I was growing up in a small town in Indiana, but later learned Munster was a bedroom community in the shadows of the Steel Mills and Chicago which was just about next door.   In High School I spent all my time in Music and Theater along with Speech and Debate.   I then went to Purdue University where I majored in Glee Club, Fraternity, and Engineering.  I graduated in 1980 with a Bachelors of Science in Industrial Management with a minor in Industrial Engineering.  After a short stint as a Production Manager for a small box converter in Lafayette Indiana, I move to Deerfield Beach, Florida, in Broward County, at the end of 1983 and lived with my Grandmother and Aunt Nancy.  I started working in the Transportation Industry in 1984 with Roadway Express and within a year was in Sales.  In 1994 I was transferred to Ocala, and in 1996 moved from Roadway Express to Roadway Package Service, RPS, which was acquired by FedEx in 1998.   I stayed with FedEx representing FedEx Ground, Express, and LTL Freight along with their International Services until my retirement in 2018.

This is my 2nd year with the Global Logistics Program at West Port.  I have been married to my lovely wife Kay for 32 years.  She was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale and has explained to me no matter how long I live here I will never be a native.   We have two grown children, Andrew and Heather, who both graduated from Forest High School in Ocala and have finished College.

Before leaving South Florida I picked up an MBA from Nova Southeastern in 1991 back when you had to go to class to earn a Degree.  It was of 4 hours every Friday and 8 hours every Saturday for 2 years, which has allowed me to serve as an Adjunct Professor in the Supply Chain Management program at CF for the last five years teaching a number of their Transportation classes.
