West Port High School students are inspired to achieve and advocate for their own personal success in college, career, and life. Our students are ambitious, innovative, productive, and well-educated members of society.
The mission of the West Port High School Comprehensive School Counseling Program is to identify the specific academic, career, and social/emotional needs of all students through a needs assessment, data analysis, and collaboration with stakeholders to deliver evidence-based interventions. Our school counselors advocate for all students to have a positive and nurturing learning environment that promotes high achievement and will be directly involved in preparing students for post-secondary success. As a result, all students will be able to identify and apply their personal strengths to achieve their academic, career, and social/emotional goals.
Registration for Marion County Schools is now completed online. Please visit the New Student Enrollment page to register a new student at West Port High School. Once you have completed the online portion of the registration, you may come to the school between 8:00am and 11:30am to complete the registration. Review the Registration Checklist before arriving to the school. You must provide all necessary documentation on this checklist to enroll your student. Registration Checklist - Spanish

Parents may make appointments with the counselor throughout the school day. Please contact your counselor to schedule an appointment.
Students may also see their counselor throughout the day by obtaining an appointment pass at the Guidance Desk. Appointments can be made before school, during ALPHA Time, or after school.

Please contact the Guidance Desk at 352-291-4004 to schedule a parent/teacher conference. Conferences are scheduled Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 8:30AM. Conferences occur in the school counselor's office - the student should attend the conference with their parents/guardians.
Please plan to arrive early so the conference can begin on time. Parents are asked to check in at the front desk to be issued a visitor's pass and then proceed to the Guidance Office for the conference. Please contact the Guidance Desk if you cannot attend a scheduled conference so the teachers may be notified accordingly.
