• GRADUATION INFORMATION

    OUTSIDE CREDITS
    All outside credits are DUE BY MAY 2nd

     

    SENIOR EXAMS
    May 7th – 5 period         
    May 8th – 4th and 6th periods
    May 9th – 1st and 3rd periods         
    May 10th – 2nd period

                                                               

    CAP AND GOWNS
    Delivery is May 8th during all lunches in the cafeteria.
    All debts must be paid, outside credits complete, and senior contracts turned in to pick up gowns.
    Your MEDALLION and, if earned, your CORD and HOOD will be given to you the day of graduation.

     

    DEBTS/TEXTBOOKS
    Paid by Friday, May 11th
    All textbooks must be turned in to your teacher, all library debts must be paid to Ms. Pohlers, and all school debts must be paid to Mrs. Fletcher. 
    Seniors with outstanding debts will not be in the graduation line up.

     

    SENIOR’S FINAL DAY
    May 11th     
    1st period & CAT – Report to classes
    11:05 pm – Auditorium for movie, games, and popcorn
    1:20 pm – Cafeteria for senior lunch, slideshow, and yearbook signing
    2:40 pm – Gather in the rotunda for the Senior Walk

     

    BACCALAUREATE
    May 14th    6:45 pm     Blessed Trinity Catholic Church
    Graduates are to arrive by 6:15 pm
    Cap and Gowns are to be worn

     

    AWARDS NIGHT
    May 16th    6:30pm  FHS Auditorium
    Mr. and Miss FHS will be announced
    Awards for all grades will be issued

     

    GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS
    Seniors who have not picked up their announcements must see Mrs. Crawford as soon as possible.
    The final balance to Herff Jones must be paid to pick up your announcements.  Cash or money order only.

     

    GRADUATION PHOTOS
    Each senior will have their picture taken as they receive their diploma and holding their diploma cover. The images will be online to view and purchase within a few days of graduation.  You can also search for the images at www.partypics.com.  The price of pictures starts at $8 and you will be given a flyer May 17th about this.

     

    GRADUATION PRACTICE 
    May 17th   4:00 pm   MANDATORY
    MUST BE IN SEAT at Southeastern Livestock Pavilion by 4 pm.  Seniors must attend practice and plan on TWO HOURS.  

     

    GRADUATION DAY
    May 19th
    8:00am Southeastern Livestock Pavilion
    Graduates report to the Pavilion by 7:00am.  All keys and personal belongings should be left with a responsible person outside of the auditorium.  Your guests should report directly to their seating area.  Do not bring guests into the auditorium!  You need to stay in your seat until it is time to line up.    Please remind your guests that the program is not over until the last senior has received his or her diploma.  Graduation usually lasts roughly 1 ½ hours.  IF SOMEONE IN YOUR FAMILY NEEDS ACCESSIBLE SEATING, PLEASE SEE MRS. CRAWFORD beginning April 13th.         

     

    WHAT TO WEAR?
    Please use the following guidelines when participating in your baccalaureate and graduation exercises.

    GIRLS

    Dress:  Please be in a nice dress, skirt, or pants.

    Shoes:  Wear dress shoes, but make sure your heels are low as you have to walk UP and DOWN a slope!  You may not wear flip-flops, tennis shoes, or dirty/old boots.  You may wear a pair of dress sandals. 

     

    BOYS

    Pants:  You must wear dress pants, blue jeans are not allowed. 

    Shirt:  You must wear a dress shirt, Polo shirts are not allowed.

    Tie:  You must wear a tie, but it can either be a long tie or a bow tie.

    Shoes:  You must wear dress shoes or dress boots.  You are not allowed to wear sandals, flip-flops, dirty/old boots, or tennis shoes.

     

    GRADUATION CAP
    Girls, please secure the cap with bobby pins but be careful of extreme hair styles or your cap will not fit or stay on during the ceremony.  All graduates should place their cap with the point of the cap in the middle of the forehead, as this will allow to hat to sit squarely on the head.  The hat should be worn flat and not tilted on the head and tassels are to be worn on the right side.  HATS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE DECORATED!   

     

    CAP AND GOWN CARE
    Hang the gown on a hanger until it is needed and many of the wrinkles will disappear.  If you choose to iron the gown, use a WARM iron or pressing cloth and press with CAUTION.  You can easily burn the gown!

     

    GRADUATION REGALIA

    • Those with a 3.0 - 3.499 weighted cumulative GPA will be provided a GOLD CORD.

    • Those with a 3.5 – 3.999 weighted cumulative GPA will be provided a GOLD AND WHITE CORD.

    • Those with a 4.0 weighted cumulative GPA and above will be provided a WHITE CORD and a GOLD HOOD.  The hoods must be returned when your diploma is picked up OR you can purchase the hood for $20 cash the day of graduation, when you pick up your diploma.  NO CHANGE will be available, so bring exact amounts!

    • National Honor Society Cords (provided by NHS) may be worn, but no other cords are allowed.

    • Academic, vocational, and club pins awarded by Forest High School can be worn on the graduation gown on the left side of the gown.   

     

    ONLY THE ABOVE DRESS AND REGALIA MAY BE WORN BY FHS GRADUATES.

     

    STUDENTS WHO DO NOT PLAN TO PARTICIPATE IN GRADUATION NEED TO SEE MR. CARSON AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
