Welcome to MTI Culinary Arts Program? I began my journey as a Culinary Educator on January 4,2018 here at MTI!I have over 26 years of Culinary and Food Service Leadership experience in a variety of organizations. I began my career due to a Passion for Culinary Arts and service while I was attending High School! I progressed in positions through hard work and determination while obtaining an Associates of Applied Science in Culinary Arts from Johnson and Wales University, Charleston,SC Campus and a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel,Restauraunt, and Toursim Management from Western, Kentucky University, Bowling Green,KY. In my career in Culinary and Food Service Leadership I have enjoyed creating and leading teams, bringing quality improvements to the organizations I have served, developing and implementing new programs and training, exceeding client/cutomer expectations through improved customer and employee satisfaction,improvements to regulatory compliance,and financial accountability! I enjoy creating opportunites for those that I have had the opportunity to lead!I enjoy the diversity in the industry and the opportunity to work with and serve people from all walks of life.I am enjoying my new career working with the students at MTI. My experience as an employer to many high school students has given me a great foundation to be able to relate to them and bring out their skills and abilities.
My culinary students are expected to work together as a team,respect all others, participate in all activities, and try their best!Uniform requirements must be followed on annouced lab/kitchen assignments.
