Degrees and Certifications:
Miss Elizabeth Rockey
Hello! Thanks for taking the time to learn all about me. I look forward to learning more about your student in class.
I had the honor of attending the University of Florida. I was part of the ProTeach program, a program where I was awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Education (BAE) and a Master of Education (MEd). I have certifications in Elementary (K-6) and Exceptional Student Education (K-12) with endorsements in ESOL and Reading. I am passionate about inclusion, the “Rockey” road to reading, high leverage practices & UDL. I am a member of the International Dyslexia Association-Florida Branch and attend conferences and webinars on meeting the needs of all learners.
I was an intern at Saddlewood in Fall 2017 and became a Support Facilitator for Spring 2018. I taught Third Grade Inclusion & all 4 subjects for the school years 2018-2019 & 2019-2020. I am looking forward to teaming with Mrs. Baggs and focusing on Reading and Social Studies this year. I can't wait to support students in our inclusive classroom! Mrs. Newhouse, our inclusion teacher, and Mr. Lanza, our paraprofessional, provide additional support to meet our students' needs. Please connect with us on Class Dojo to see your student’s classwork, portfolio, photographs, and for class communication or feel free to email me at your convience. Let's make it a great year of learning!
