The assignments are listed in this website under the sidebar "Assignments for April ...".    Right now the only thing to do on Google Classroom is to answer the Sanford Harmony question each day.

    April 4, 2020

This coming week's assignments are listed under the sidebar that says, "Assignments for April 6-10".   Assignments are due by Friday.

I will be adding attachments for the ELA assignments.  Update:  I added the Assignments on April 5.   They are below the heading ELA standard.   Click on the link that says ELA Assignments for April 6-10.

I have assigned the StemScopes assignments so that they show up by Monday morning. (updated April 5)

I am also planning to put a Google classroom code on here soon so that your child may join our Google Classroom.

When the Google Classroom is active, your child will be answering a Sanford Harmony "Buddy Talk" question (which will be a "Class Share" question, as their Attendance question to show that he/she is in attendance every day.   This will be one way I count attendance when that platform gets running.

    April 2, 2020   Disclaimer:

Marion County Public Schools may record online classroom sessions utilizing third-party platforms (Zoom, Google Classroom, etc.).  These recordings will only be used for educational purposes and may be shared on other learning platforms.  If you do not want your child’s image or identifying information recorded, utilize your device/platform controls to stop the camera feed from your device.

You need to know that the Zoom sessions CAN be recorded and shared in our Google Classroom.   If you do not want your child's picture showing in the recording, you will have to not allow his/her picture to be recorded when we have our original online session.   This does not mean that it will happen, but that it might happen.    It is allowed.      This disclaimer is also posted under the side bar "Disclaimer" and will soon be moved to "Parent Information" since the side bar is getting very long.  I am still learning about how to make this Teacher Website more user friendly.

This morning I will be calling families from my classroom at school.   I am still in the process of finding out which families have computers and internet access at home, and which ones don't.   If you are reading this message and I have not gotten to talk to or email you yet, please send me an email at tracey.winkler@marion.k12.fl.us to let me know if you have internet access at home and a computer for your child to use for his/her assignments.   I am staying busy learning about technology we can use for our online lessons.   I am learning how to Zoom, and hope to set up a time to Zoom with the class one day during the week of April 6-10.   Please email me if/when you or your child also have access to the Zoom app.   So far I know that one student in our class is able to Zoom.

This week's assignments are posted under the heading "This Week's Assignments".   You can see what your child's assignments will be for this week.   I will be available beginning Wednesday, April 1 to help with the online instruction.  Please email me with any questions you have.   I am excited about our new adventure for the month of April!

I hope that you are staying safe during this time away from school.   If you have internet access for your child, please have him/her complete 45-60 minutes of i-Ready Reading and i-Ready Math each week.   Also, please continue to have your child read, read, read, read, read during this break from school.   I look forward to hearing about all the wonderful books he/she has read when everyone returns to school!   Continue to practice basic addition and subtraction facts also.  I look forward to seeing your child soon!
