    CONDUCT 

    Interim:

    Number of Infractions

    0-2 times = E

    3-5 times = S

    6-10 times = N

    11+ times = U 

    Report Card:

    Number of Infractions

    0-4 times = E

    5-9 times = S

    10-18 times = N

    19+ times = U

    LANGUAGE ARTS

    Grade consists of three categories: 

    - Foundational Skills (spelling, phonics, fluency) - 20%

    - Comprehension (understanding fiction & nonfiction; vocab.) - 40%

    - Communication (writing/speaking/listening) - 40%

    • The students will also be checked for reading fluency and accuracy. See “Reading Info” for more information.  
    • Spelling words and trace-and-copy cursive sheets will be given each Friday for the following week.
      • Students are to trace the example neatly and accurately.  Then they copy the word one time next to the example.  The example and their copy should look similar.
    • Students will complete spelling tests in print until more fluent in cursive. We will then begin with five words in cursive, moving on to ten, and so on until they complete the entire test in cursive.

    MATH

    Grade consists of 3 categories:

    - Assessments - 50%

    - Computational Fluency - 20%

    - Class Work/Practice - 30%

    • Students should know their basic math facts including their multiplication tables (0s to 12s)
    • All assignments need to be completed and turned in on time.  Students must show work on all tasks for full credit.  Showing work = showing effort.

    SOCIAL STUDIES

    Grade consists of two categories:

    - Performance based Tasks/Assessments  - 60%

    - Classwork/Participation - 40% 

    • Students will complete a study guide at least two days prior to all assessments.  Please study with your child, and then sign the study guide for an extra-credit opportunity for your child.

    SCIENCE

    Grade consists of three categories:

    - Assessments - 40%

    - Science Notebook - 40%

    - Class Work/Participation - 20%

    • Students will be given a study guide for vocabulary tests at least five days before all assessments.  Please study with your child, and then sign the study guide for an extra-credit opportunity for your child. 
    • Science notebooks are to be kept organized based on the table of contents. All notes must be accurate, neat, & complete. Students are to take these home to study for FCA’s.
    • All class work should be complete and turned in on time. Students need to work safely and cooperatively with classmates.
