Welcome to Exploration of Engineering Technologies.The purpose of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to take an pass the Certified Solidworks Associate- Academic industry certification exam (CSWA- Academic).
Solidworks is a 3D computer-aided design program used in many aspects on manufacturing to model parts and assemblies, create technical drawings, and test designs. Students will work through a series of tutorials, as well as complete projects and design challenges utilizing the engineering design method as a problem-solving process. Students will also learn soft skills that are imperative to their success in the job market. For instance, student will frequently work in teams with specified individual roles where the success of their project is dependent upon all team members functioning as a unit. This course is a full year and is heavy in independent study.

Students will be preparing to take the CSWA-Academic on the 14th and 15th of May. This test and their individual preparation for the test will be counted as the performance task final for the class.
Students should not be overly concerned with their overall performance on the CSWA being a detriment to their grade in the class. The process holds more wieght in the rubric used than does their score on the test (though passing would be nice).
