Mr. Kyle Kinsey

My name is Kyle Kinsey, and I am an active music educator, percussionist, and tenor vocalist living in Leesburg, Florida. Coming from a musical family, I learned how to play piano and guitar from my mother, grandfather, and through my own self-instruction. I also studied percussion and vocal performance for eleven years throughout middle school, high school, and college. In 2016, I graduated Summa Cum Laude and received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from the University of South Florida. During my time at USF, I participated in nine different instrumental and vocal ensembles. In 2014, I had the prestigious honor of performing in Carnegie Hall as a member of the USF Wind Ensemble. Some of my other notable music achievements including being selected as an Apprentice of Percussion at the 2015 Hot Springs Music Festival in Arkansas and marching in the Florida Citrus Parade in 2008 as a member of the Tavares High School 'Red Dawg' Marching Band.

As a music educator, I have experience working with students from early elementary school through high school. During college, I interned at various elementary and middle schools in Hillsborough County as well as volunteered at community events hosted by USF and the Florida Orchestra. I also served as an Assistant Percussion Technician at Leesburg High School during the summer for two years. I am currently a member of the National Association for Music Education, Florida Music Education Association, Florida Vocal Association, and the Percussive Arts Society. Last year, I was the Chorus Director and Guitar Teacher at Carver Middle School in Leesburg, where I helped students share their music with others and gain more performance experience by reaching out to the community. This year, I am proud to be the Roving Music Teacher between Saddlewood Elementary, Marion Oaks Elementary, and College Park Elementary.
